CSR Partnership

CSR Partnership

Conservation and integrated sustainable development is an endeavour that requires the support of contributors from diverse sectors to become successful.  The Corbett Foundation (TCF) also believes that conservation is a collective responsibility, and our efforts to this end are more effective, mutually beneficial and the impact, long-lasting when we combine our strengths and resources with various corporates, multinational companies, financial institutions, public sector units and International bodies with aligning values and philosophies, and create meaningful partnerships that pertain to a company’s specific area of focus for their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

The Companies Act 2013 has mandated companies to undertake activities ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water, women empowerment, promotion of education, healthcare, sanitation, livelihood enhancement and such as stated in Schedule VII of the Act. This presents companies with an opportunity to carry forward the causes of environmental sustainability and nature conservation while fundamentally strengthening their business in keeping with their CSR policy.

The lives of more than 3500 individuals from tribal and forest dwelling communities have changed for the better since Axis Bank Foundation partnered with TCF on a sustainable livelihoods initiative in four tiger reserves. Coca-Cola India Foundation and Standard Industries Ltd. have been instrumental in lighting up the lives of more than 10,000 villagers by providing them with solar-lights. Coca-Cola India Foundation also supported our Watershed Development Project, paving the path for enhanced water availability for irrigation and agriculture in five villages near Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Friends of Conservation and Exodus Travels Foundation, U.K. have supported us in preventing wild animal deaths through open-well fencing and replenishing watering holes through solar-water pumps. Bajaj Auto Ltd. have supported our medical outreach initiative giving nearly 35,000 villagers healthier lives. Kirloskar Group has joined hands with TCF in its efforts to save the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard. Pirojsha Godrej Foundation has been a generous contributor to our corpus fund and awareness and education initiatives. TCF mitigates human-wildlife conflict through an Interim Relief Scheme supported by WWF-India since 1997. The Bombay Gowrakshak Trust supports us in keeping around 2,00,000 cattle annually, healthy, productive and safe from disease. Jet Privilege Pvt. Ltd. supported TCF's conservation and community welfare initiatives in Bandhavgarh-Sanjay Dubri Corridor. Hem Chand Mahindra Foundation has been supportive of TCF's conflict mitigation and flood relief work in Kaziranga. TCF has partnered with Mahindra Susten Pvt. Ltd. to provide livelihood skills to villagers around Rewa to facilitate an environment-friendly lifestyle. TCF and ONGC have jointly ensured that over 300 families in Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary receive clean drinking water for their daily use and also collaborated on the sanitation project in the same landscape. TCF was the implementation partner for the JSW Foundation that provided over 3,000 energy-efficient cookstoves in Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary.

In 2021, TCF has embarked on a 3-year project in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra with the kind support of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) that reaches out to 15 villages around Amboli-Dodamarg Conservation Reserve with a holistic sustainable initiatives under environmental sustainbility, water conservation, sustainable livelihoods and education and awareness.

There are several such examples of successful and mutually beneficial CSR partnerships that TCF has established over the years. TCF looks forward to partnering with more like-minded organisations to make a difference in the lives of India's threatened wildlife species and forest-dwelling communities for a harmonious co-existence.

TCF is grateful to all its past and present CSR partners for their support and collaboration.
