The Corbett Foundation (TCF), a charitable trust and nongovernmental organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and working towards mitigation human-wildlife conflict, proposes a Conservation Education Project in collaboration with Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR), Maharashtra.

Reporting to: The Director-TCF

Duration of Project :11 months

Work experience: 3-5 years

Qualification: Masters Degree in Wildlife / Environmental / Biological sciences

Key responsibilities of the position :

  •  Plan and conduct meetings with school principals, teacher training workshops, nature trails/treks for students, Wildlife awareness programmes in school & communities.
  •  Provide support to STR in developing signage and conservation oriented /EE resource material.
  •  Liasioning with forest officials and timely coordination&communication with TCF staff and team members.
  •  Handle general administration of the project/office.
  •  Encourage local communities to participate in learning and skill development activities.
  •  Sensitizing and mobilizing the local communities towards conservation. Desirable skills for the incumbent

Desirable skills for the incumbent :

  •  Experience in conducting wildlife awareness programmes in classroom and on the field
  •  Valid driver's license ( 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler)
  •  Excellent communication / drafting skills in English and Marathi languages
  •  Must have an orderly and organized manner of working, critical thinking skills
  •  Problem solving, time and team management
  •  Social awareness
  •  Good public speaking skills
  •  Ability to interact and work with the local community

The Corbett Foundation invites applications for the post of Programme Officer (Fundraising, Public Relations and Communication).The vacancy is based in the Admin Office of The Corbett Foundation at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Desirable Qualification: Master's Degree in Mass Media & Communication with interest and in-depth knowledge about conservation issues.

The incumbent should meet the following job requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, PR and content management
- Should be able to conceptualize projects, write proposals and make presentations for suitable funding opportunities
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in English; Knowledge of Hindi, Marathi and other regional languages would be an advantage
- Proficiency in computers is absolutely essential. Knowledge of publishing software such as Indesign, Photoshop, Corel Draw would be an added advantage.
- Compiling monthly newsletters / reports and annual reports
- Creating PowerPoint presentations for CSR clients
- Hard-working, target-oriented and willingness to travel to project locations within India as required
- Knowledge about film editing software is desirable.
- Person should be creative and have the ability to visualize Environment Education resource materials, publicity posters, advertisements, banners, etc.

  • The interns will be governed as per the rules and regulations set up by the Corbett Foundation (TCF) and its management.
  • After completion of the assignment, the intern must submit a detailed report to TCF of the work done during internship.
  • The Corbett Foundation will issue a Certificate of Completion only after asessment of the work done and report submission.
  • The interns will be briefed about which project they will be working for after selection.
  • The interns may or may not be paid a stipend during the duration of the internship.
  • Food and accomodation will be provided either free or at a nominal charge.
  • All interns shall not hold The Corbett Foundation or its management, nominees, associates responsible for any mishaps including loss of lives, limbs and any belongings or such unfortunate incidents that may take place during the course of the internship.
